Meeting Minutes
June 12, 2018
Present: Leslie O’Connor, Brenda Moriarty, Tom Unger, Bonnie Reemsnyder and Louis Russo
Call to order at 4:05 PM
Approval of minutes for the May 8, 2017 meeting:
Motion to accept by T. Unger, seconded by B. Moriarty. Motion was carried by a unanimous vote.
Ordinance Process:
- Committee members urged to attend Selectman’s meeting on Monday June 18, when the committee’s updated ordinance will be on the agenda.
- We await the new ordinance to update the committee’s ‘charge’ statement.
Summer Meeting Schedule:
August; canceled
Community Outreach:
- T. Unger to call for to reserve space for the committee’s booth for the Mid-Summer Festival.
- Discussion about handouts and ‘attention-getters’ (games, etc.) for the booth.
- The new widget is now in place and functioning on our Town web page.
- Mid-summer Festival; Looking into a booth and associated costs.
New Business:
1) The Town has received a letter in May and 2 emails in June from Willimantic Waste concerning ‘dirty’ recycling from our Town.
2) B. Moriarty brought a template for an informational hanging tag for residents recycle bins. Further information concerning the purchase and distribution will be forthcoming.
Old Business:
1) We are awaiting Gary at Shoreline Sanitation for the final draft of the violation tags for bins.
